NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – The North Plainfield Borough Council, at its Sept. 14 meeting, officially appointed Kathleen Intravartolo as Tax and Sewer Collector, effective immediately. Intravartolo will also continue to serve as the borough’s full-time Deputy Finance Officer.

As tax and sewer collector, Intravartolo, a Jamesburg mom of four, will be responsible for the billing and collection of taxes –both property and sewer – within the town as well as charged with running tax sales and reporting senior and veteran deductions to the state.

Intravartolo began working for North Plainfield 17 years ago when she was hired as a full-time treasurer; prior, she served as a supervisor of administrative services for Easter Seals. Two years ago, she earned her Qualifying Purchasing License and was appointed as a Qualified Purchasing Agent (QPA) for North Plainfield and, earlier this year, she returned to school once more and earned her tax collector’s certification.

Working for the borough’s finance department, said Intravartolo, has provided her with the opportunity to directly assist residents and property owners. “I like the people contact and interacting with everyone who comes to the counter. There is a lot of customer service,” said Intravartolo.
