NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - On Saturday, September 26th the North Plainfield High School Marching Band and Color Guard took first place in the US Bands competition at Piscataway High School. In addition, they brought home the following caption awards: Best Music; Best Color Guard; Best Visuals; Best Percussion; and Best Overall Effect.

“Considering how dedicated and disciplined every band members from each high school were in preparation for competition, what a thrill for the Marching Canucks to hear their school announced as the recipient of each of the five awards,” said Dr. James V. McLaughlin, Superintendent of Schools.

The Marching Canucks award winning show “Good versus Evil” can be seen and heard at the home football game on October 9th and in competition October 10th at Somerville High School. The marching band is directed by Kyle Skrivanek and the color guard by Shannon Shotwell.
