(Editor’s Note: This year, three North Plainfield High School seniors – Heather Hernandez, Victoria Kisling, and Amaiana Sajjad – will serve as interns for TAPinto North Plainfield, Green Brook & Watchung. Each month, they will conduct research and interviews and write articles which will be published by TAPinto; their first assignment was to write a personal profile to introduce themselves to readership).

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Victoria Kisling is currently a senior at North Plainfield High School (NPHS). She is in the process of applying to colleges and universities for next fall and plans to study both accounting and journalism. Once both degrees are achieved, Kisling hopes to pursue a position in the financial world while writing on the side. From there, Kisling plans to open up her own business.

Kisling is involved in many different things at the NPHS: she is editor-in-chief of Tunlaw, the school’s newspaper, as well as the editor for its news section. Kisling dipped her toe into the pool of opportunity that is journalism when she took the journalism class offered at her school and from then on, her entire world was changed. She is fascinated by the journalism world and never wants to leave it as she has a passion for it.

Kisling is also one of the captains for the NPHS’s girl’s varsity tennis team, the master copyeditor for the school yearbook, a mentor leader for the Canuck Mentor Program, and secretary for both the senior class council and National Honors Society. Kisling is also very passionate about softball. She has been on the NPHS girls varsity softball team since her freshman year and the starting varsity pitcher since her sophomore year. Playing since she was a little girl, Kisling does not want her softball career to end after high school and she hopes to continue it in some way, including maintaining a job at NJ Fastpitch Camps and Clinics, a place where she is able to teach girls of all ages how to pitch and other softball skills. She has been working there for five years and is thankful for all that it has taught her.

Kisling is a very hard worker and is determined to accomplish anything she sets her mind to. She enjoys spending as much time with friends and family as she can. She is excited for the future and all that it will bring.
