FLEMINGTON, NJ - Steven B. Mell, age 53, of Far Hills, has pled guilty to third degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Sexual Conduct in Somerset and Hunterdon counties, acting Hunterdon County Prosecutor Michael J. Williams announced this week.

Acting Prosecutor Williams stated, “Mr. Mell was arrested in June of 2018 after an investigation by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit discovered he had engaged in sexual relations with a female victim under the age of sixteen in Readington and Bedminster Townships. He was indicted by a Hunterdon County Grand Jury on August 16, 2018. On May 13, 2019, Mr. Mell pled guilty to third degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Sexual Conduct. He will be sentenced on July 12, 2019 by the Honorable Angela F. Borkowski, JSC.

Mell also pleaded guilty in December 2018 to federal charges of child pornography and interstate travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct, according to court documents.
