SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ –Municipalities throughout the area are remembering the men and women of our great nation who gave the ultimate sacrifice, so we can have the freedom and liberties that we enjoy.
Memorial Day events in North Plainfield begin at 9 a.m. Monday, at the Vermeule Cemetery. The fire bell ceremony at Lincoln Place and Somerset Street will be at 9:30 a.m. The Brook Avenue Cemetery ceremony is at 10 a.m. The World War II Monument ceremony at the North Plainfield Memorial Library is at 10:30 a.m. The 11 a.m. exercises will be in Memorial Park at Willow and Myrtle at Washington Avenue.
The 11:00 AM Ceremony at Memorial Park will include a Rededication and Unveiling of the World War I & World War II Plaques at the Monument.
This year the Memorial Park Services will be extended to unveil the new plaques, please bring lawn chairs for your comfort.

In Watchung the Memorial ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m., on the Watchung Circle, 10 Mountain Blvd., by the War Memorial.
Green Brook officials will be participating in the Memorial Day Parade in Dunellen at 10 a.m. The parade starts of the American Legion Post 119, 137 New Market Road. All are welcome to honor those who made the supreme sacrifice so that we could be free.
