PLAINFIELD, NJ — A 10-year-old was killed after a minivan carrying several schoolchildren rolled over onto the sidewalk in front of the Plainfield Education Center Monday morning.
The accident happened shortly before 7:30 a.m. on W. 9th Street near Arlington Avenue. According to authorities, a collision between a minivan and a Ford Taurus sedan resulted in the 10-year-old victim being pinned underneath one of the vehicles on the sidewalk.
It is believed that seven other victims, including several children, were injured and transported to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions were not known. The gender of the child who died after the accident has not been released.
