SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ  - For more than 15 years, the Moretti Team has been actively involved with the South Plainfield Annual Labor Day Parade, assisting in the supplying and handing out of water to all the marchers. This year, the Moretti Team took their involvement and participation a step further with their very own float.

Entitled ‘Three Generations of Real Estate Expertise,’ the float tied into the 2015 Labor Day Parade theme ‘Celebrating Our Heritage’ and won the Judges Trophy, which is awarded for best overall entry. The Moretti Team’s winning float featured houses displayed in a half-moon as well as thank you to the community and a timeline from the 1960s through today depicting the real estate’s three generations of service to South Plainfield.

“Our business started here and has been passed on for three generations and we thought it would be appropriate to the theme ‘Celebrating Our Heritage’ since this is our heritage,” said Moretti Team Leader Guy Moretti, adding, “I grew up with my dad in the real estate business, my kids grew up with me in the business and now my grandchildren are growing up in the real estate business as well.”

Guy and his wife Toni Moretti along with their son Eugene Moretti and team members Steve Gold, Debbie Malecki, Glenn Jones and Gi Sofka were among those who participated.

Guy Moretti began his career in real estate back in 1979 when he joined his father’s South Plainfield agency. At the time, Gene Moretti Realty operated out of a 1,000-square-foot office on the corner of Front Street and Maple Avenue and had just four agents. In 1983, Guy purchased the business and 12 years later affiliated with Century 21.

In 1998, Guy moved the agency across the street to its current location at 225 Maple Avenue and, over the course of the next four years, grew his firm to 80 full-time agents, nine employees and 120 part-time agents with offices in South Plainfield and Somerset. Four years ago, Guy sold his agency to Prudential New Jersey Properties and in early 2014, Prudential sold off its real estate division to Berkshire Hathaway Home Services.

These days, Guy and Toni Moretti no longer manage the business but instead solely focus on listing and selling real estate. They have created Team Moretti, a six-member sales team under the Berkshire Hathaway brand.  Team Moretti includes Guy and Toni, their oldest son Eugene, Debbie Malecki, Steve Gold and transaction management specialist Gi Sofka. Together, The Moretti Team specializes in residential homes including short sales and foreclosures along with commercial properties and land development.

The Moretti Team will be hosting ‘Buyer, Seller and Wealth Building’ seminars as a community service. The first seminar will be held Sept. 24. Seating is limited so anyone interested, must register by calling 908-912-5295. Additional information is also available online at www.MorettiTeam.com.
