SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Real estate sales have become much more complex than years past, according to Guy Moretti, Team Leader for the Moretti Team at the South Plainfield-based Berkshire Hathaway Home Services of New Jersey (BHHSNJ).

“The industry is changing. Years ago there was a 80/20 rule which said 80-percent of real estate sales were completed by 20—percent of the agents.  Today, it is closer to 90/10 as single agents struggle to compete in the market place,” said Moretti, a successful 37-year real estate veteran.

Real estate agents today, said Moretti, must stay current with changing rules and regulations, prospect for new business, incubate prospective business, service the existing sales, service active listing inventory, use internet market strategies, and stay current with technology while also continuing to improve their sales skills, manage the transaction from legal review and structural, environmental, municipal, and bank Inspections and handle closings, among other things.
