NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - Naji Campbell rushed for three touchdowns and threw for two to lead the North Plainfield football team over Voorhees on Friday night’s Senior Night Homecoming game, 40-16.

“I’m very proud of the way our kids came out and played tonight,” said North Plainfield head coach Jimmy DiPaolo. “We executed well on offense and defense and had a lot of different players step up and make big plays. It’s great to give our seniors a win on Senior Night. Many of them have put in a tremendous amount of time and effort into the program and it was great to see them enjoy the victory on their special night.”

Prior to the game the senior football players and cheerleaders were recognized. ( see football video here and cheer video here)

Jah’Quan Allen and Jordan Bird each caught a touchdown pass and Gavin Jones scored the other rushing touchdown.

North Plainfield led from the start. After the first TD’s 2 point conversion was no good, the Canucks bounced right back with an onside kick leading to another quick TD. The 2-point conversion was stopped and the early score was 12-0. North Plainfield never trailed and took a 21-0 lead into the half.

At halftime, the senior band members were recognized and homecoming court was introduced. ( see band video here and homecoming video here)

Friday’s game was the last home game this season. The North Plainfield varsity football team has an away non-conference game at Dover on Friday, Oct. 18.
