NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ -Superintendent of Schools Dr. James McLaughlin cut the ribbon to officially dedicate a corner of the NPHS library for the pre-school students enrolled in the Child Development Program. The project was organized by teacher, Gurpreet Kaur, so that the preschoolers could begin to familiarize themselves with the library and take “field trips” from their classroom on the first floor, guided by the high school students enrolled in the course, to the library on the second floor. Assistant Superintendent Michelle Vella also cut the ribbon with Dr. McLaughlin. The event was attended by Linda Bond-Nelson, President of the Board of Education.

Supervisor of Language Arts, Dr. Hope Blecher, read a book by Eric Carle, “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” Afterward, the children colored pictures of the animals that were represented in the book, followed by a return to the classroom for celebratory cookies.
