NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ –The North Plainfield Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is conducting a theft by deception investigation and is attempting to identify the pictured subject. Police allege that the subject convinced a North Plainfield resident to cash a check that was later determined to be fraudulent.

“Right now, this person is someone of interest in this theft,” said North Plainfield Police Chief William Parenti, noting that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.

Additionally, the North Plainfield Police recommend to residents that if an unknown person asks you to cash a check, please use your better judgment and advise them to go to a bank.
