North Plainfield Police Seeking Public’s Help Identifying Suspect

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ –The North Plainfield Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is conducting a theft by deception investigation and is attempting to identify the pictured subject. Police allege that the subject convinced a North Plainfield resident to cash a check that was later determined to be fraudulent.

“Right now, this person is someone of interest in this theft,” said North Plainfield Police Chief William Parenti, noting that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.

Anyone who can identify this person or who may have any information that would help with this investigation is asked to contact the North Plainfield Police Department at (908) 769-2924 or at tips@npmail.org. . Anonymous tips are welcomed; please indicate in your email if you wish to remain anonymous.

Additionally, the North Plainfield Police recommend to residents that if an unknown person asks you to cash a check, please use your better judgment and advise them to go to a bank.
