SUMMIT, NJ - In an early front runner for the Best Comedic Short-Form Video with an Important Message by a Public Safety Agency Award, the City of Summit Police Department has created a three-plus minute video that alerts residents of the Hilltop City to potential nefarious activities that can occur during the holiday season.

Using one of the most famous / infamous holiday characters -- The Grinch -- as the antagonist, the video illustrates how packages that proliferate on neighborhood doorsteps during the festive period can be prime targets for theft, while also urging residents to not leave valuables in their cars, not to leave their vehicles unlocked, and to never leave their key fob / car keys in their vehicle itself.

In the end, after going on a theft spree in and around Summit, the green menace is apprehended by the men and women in blue.
