The exciting and popular Solid Brass Ensemble opens Crescent Concerts’ 35th Season at the Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church, Plainfield on Sunday, September 25 at 3:00 pm.

Founded in 1982, Solid Brass is recognized by audiences and critics alike as one of the premier brass groups in the country.  The eleven members of the ensemble are some of the New York area’s finest musicians who have performed at Lincoln Center with the Metropolitan Opera and New York City Opera orchestras, numerous Broadway shows and a host of appearances in the metropolitan area.  Solid Brass has been a recipient of a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and has performed in Mexico and tours in Canada.

Solid Brass is returning for this encore performance after wowing the Crescent audiences in the past with its brilliant arrangements and repertoire.

[through] The art of the march and dance.”  From medieval ceremonial music to John Philip Sousa, from Strauss and Wagner to the Beach Boys and The Wrecking Crew, this program has something for everyone and for every age (including Big Band Memories).  As one Board member said, “Solid Brass will delight all with its wonderful sound, and wonderful introductions by Douglas Haislip, its Managing Director.  We hope audience members who have heard Solid Brass before, will bring friends and neighbors to what will be another memorable concert.”
