MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ- After a year of successfully connecting local business owners by organizing weekly free Leads Groups throughout Union, Somerset and Middlesex Counties, The Tri County Chamber of Commerce (TCCOC) is looking to expand and offer even more Leads Groups for anyone interested in growing their business.

Co-Owner of The Scarlett Marketing Group and TCCOC Membership Coordinator Mindy Scarlett said, “The concept of the Leads Groups is to give business owners the opportunity to get to know each other in a small, more intimate setting so that they have a comfort level in referring each other out.”

Al Boettger of Jack Pedersen Realty and Secretary of the TCCOC, organizes the weekly Tuesday Leads Group in Piscataway.   Boettger explained, “We are like-minded business owners, seeking to promote each other's business, having an abundance mentality that there is more than enough commerce for us all.”

Jill Ryan is the Co-Owner of The Scarlett Marketing Group and TCCOC Membership Coordinator.  Ryan, who is also the Organizer of the Monday Leads Group, finds the meetings to be a great tool in expanding any business.  Ryan said, “Leads Groups are a comfortable way of networking.”

Scarlett, who heads up the Wednesday Leads Group, said, “The meetings are very laid back, very casual, very much a conversation over coffee.  There’s a little bit of formality when we go around the table and everybody officially introduces themselves and describes what they do.”

Currently, Leads Groups are meeting every Tuesday at 8am at the Fountain Blue Dinner, located at 1052 Stelton Road in Piscataway, every Wednesday at 8:15am, at Mara’s, located at 250 South Avenue in Fanwood, and every Thursday at 8am at the Sunset Diner, located at 335 US 22 in Green Brook.  There is also a Happy Hour Leads Group that meets every 2nd Monday of the month at 6pm at KC’s Korner, located at 100 Oak Tree Road in South Plainfield.

The TCCOC is actively looking for more organizers to start new Leads Groups across the region. “We want to start marching further into the three counties that we represent, which are Union, Somerset and Middlesex,” said Scarlett.  “The way we are spreading the word and growing the chamber is by these small Leads Groups.  We are looking for people from those three counties who really want to get out there and organize a small group of anywhere from 8-15 people. Leads Groups can be hosted in a local restaurant and everybody is responsible for purchasing their own breakfast.”

Organizer of Thursday’s meeting Vincent Puccia of VTM Computer Solutions said, “Leads Groups are an incredible resource because we get to know each other on a personal level, and we share leads because of that. Discussions many times reveal the groups’ other talents and interests. The atmosphere is a relaxed and easy going when we meet, as we are comfortable with one another, which makes our time together enjoyable.”

There is no cost to attend Leads Groups, although businesses are encouraged to join the TCCOC and take advantage of the many benefits offered by the organization.  The TCCOC was established as a primary resource for businesses in Central Jersey.  Membership in the TCCOC enables local businesses numerous opportunities for advertisement and networking.
