BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Watchung Hills Middle School Varsity Warriors won their 25th consecutive game, defeating the Bridgewater Junior Panthers on Saturday, 30-13, at Bridgewater High School. Watchung Hills is now 6-0 on the season, and the only unbeaten team in the Junior Skylands Conference.

The Warriors defense set the tone, forcing '3 and outs,' and turnovers, giving the offense great field position all night. The offense got three rushing touchdowns from James Marinello and one from Dante Marinello, and big plays from Vincent Rizzi and Brian Hayward to lead the Warriors to over 300 yards of total offense.

The offensive line was the engine driving the Warriors' offense, as 9 different players touched the football during the game. Preston Gully, Chris Baker, Sean Krug, Anthony Brigante, Chris Huljack and Hunter Seubert dominated the line of scrimmage on the evening. Andrew Scopel and Peter Ziegler contributed to the ground-game dominance for the Warriors.

“Every player on the Warriors' roster saw playing time Saturday night making this a real team victory,” said head coach Sal Marinello.

Josh Claxton led the defense from the middle linebacker position, and Tony Rodden, Geo Levin, and John Calleo dominated the line of scrimmage. The defensive backfield of Alvenis Almonte, Finn DiGiacomo, Justin Helbing, Jack Reale, David Labib, and Ryan Cleary held the Bridgewater passing game in check.

The Watchung Hills Middle School Football Team continues its season this Saturday night, the first of two more regular season games before the playoffs begin November 4.
