BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A Hillsborough woman was taken to Robert Wood Johnson in New Brunswick after her vehicle crashed into a telephone pole on Route 22 Thursday, according to a release from Bridgewater Township Police.

According to the release, police were called to Route 22 West in the area of the Bridgewater Diner at 10:36 a.m. Thursday for the report of an overturned vehicle.

Irene Muigai, 20, driving a black Honda Civic, left the roadway and crashed into a telephone pole, causing the vehicle to overturn.

Finderne Fire Department, Green Knoll Fire Department, North Branch Fire Department and Robert Wood Johnson Mobile Intensive Care Unit responded to the scene.

Muigai was pulled from the vehicle, police said, and taken to Robert Wood Johnson for her injuries.
