SOMERVILLE, NJ - Ten (10)kilos of cocaine, two (2) kilos of heroin, and $291,147 cash were seized from the residence of a Warren Township man, according to a statement released by authorities today.
The ten kilos of cocaine seized has an approximate street value of $1,000,000 in U.S. currency and the two kilos of heroin have a street value of $200,000.
Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives Timothy M. Fitzgerald and Warren Township Chief of Police William Keane today announced the arrest of Charles Lewis, age 42, of Sneider Road, Warren.
Prosecutor Soriano states that on December 18, as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation regarding the distribution of cocaine by Charles Lewis, members of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force along with the Warren Township and Bound Brook Police Departments executed a search warrant on defendant Lewis’ residence.
As a result of the search, detectives seized ten (10)kilos of cocaine, two (2) kilos of heroin, and $291,147 inU.S. Currency from the defendant’s residence.
Defendant Lewis was charged with Possession of CDS (Cocaine) with the Intent to Distribute, 1st Degree, Possession of CDS (Heroin) with the Intent to Distribute, 1st Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, 2nd Degreeand Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Disordely Persons Offense.
Defendant Charles Lewis was lodged in the Somerset County Jail with bail set by the Honorable Robert Reed, J.S.C. at $250,000 cash or bond.
