Watchung Hills and North Plainfield Wrestlers Advance to NJSIAA Region 4 Semis Saturday

WHRHS Wrestling: Watchung Hills Wrestlers Advance to NJSIAA Region 4 Semis Saturday, Will Send Six to Atlantic City Credits: Nemcek

UNION, NJ - Seven Watchung Hills grapplers qualified to wrestle in the quarter-finals of the NJSIAA Region 4 Tournament on Friday night, and six will move on to the semi-finals Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Blake Bahna, Danny Miller, Nick Ciraulo, Jacob Stasil, Rob Saum, Vince Mattaliano, and Justin Hayward all wrestled Friday night and all but Bahna move on. Jonathan Guardado will wrestle in the semis for North Plainfield. Consolation finals are set for  2 p.m. with finals at 3 p.m. 

Bahna lost a 3-0 decision to Aiden Taylor of Voorhees. Miller, Ciraulo, Saum, and  Mattaliano won by decision. Stasil and Hayward each pinned their opponents for Watchung Hills. Guardado won by decision for North Plainfield.

All in the semi-finals advance to next weekend’s NJSIAA Individual Wrestling State Championship in Atlantic City.
