WARREN, NJ - The Watchung Hills Board of Education approved the Restart and Recovery Hybrid Scheduling Model for the 2020-21 year at its Monday meeting.
The first day of school for students will be Sept. 2. Students will attend school either under the hybrid model or 100% virtual.
Students will be divided into two cohorts, mostly alphabetically. Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Jewett stated that the alphabet split was decided as the best decision for keeping families in multiple schools, on the same schedules.
The school day at WHRHS will begin at 7:30 and end at 12:05 with four periods. Period 3 will include additional time for a snack. New procedures for arrival, dismissal, and transportation are being developed to ensure social distancing.
Detailed information will be shared later in the week.
