COLONIA, NJ – Watchung Hills’ Jake Wilinsky allowed just one run on four hits, and the WHRHS Warriors used great defense to go on the road and defeat Colonia 2-1. Wilinsky’s complete game victory was his first of the season, and it was the Warriors first win of 2015. “Jake threw well,” said Warriors Head Coach Joseph Tremarco. “He had complete command of his off speed stuff and the zone.”

The Warriors got both of their runs in the top half of the 1st inning. Warriors Dan Bongiorno and Kevin Cagnetta each had RBI hits in the 1st inning.  Watchung Hills’ Bongiorno, Cagnetta and Anthony Rocchietti all went two for three in the game. Rocchietti also had a run scored.

“It was just a solid team effort, said Tremarco. “The guys did a really great job backing up Jake with the gloves.

The victory improves Watchung Hills’ record to 1-1 on the season. The Warriors next play April 7th at home versus Phillipsburg.
