WATCHUNG, NJ - On Tuesday, Watchung Borough Council honored Robert Gibbs, William Nehls and George Sopko who are leaving the dais at the end of this month. 

 

Gibbs resigned Nov. 25 to be with his family more and focus on work after  2,433 days on the Borough Council and Nehls and Sopko served over a collective 24 years. 

 

Watchung Mayor Keith Balla said,” each of these men have left Watchung in a better place than it was when they came onto the council.”

The council then considered three nominees - Fred Hayeck, Amber Murad, and Dr.Ronald Jubin. Nehls made a motion to approve  Jubin as appointee, Black agreed and Sopko concurred and Jubin was then sworn in.
