WARREN, NJ - Chloe Ferreira scored with 1:08 left in the second overtime period on an assist from Jessica Carrieri to lift the Watchung Hills girls soccer team over Franklin on Thursday, 2-1. 

After a scoreless first half, Franklin scored first early in the second half to take a 1-0 lead. Arianna Valenti evened it up for Watchung Hills with a direct kick and 14 minutes left in the game. Brooke Sachau stopped 20 shots on goal for Franklin. Kaylee Donnelly saved two for Watchung Hills.

”Our players never stopped competing today,” said WHRHS head coach Brian Figueiredo.  “Franklin did a great job of defending and making us break them down.  I was extremely proud of our perseverance and it paid off for us in the end.”

Watchung Hills improves to 5-1 on the season and next plays Middletown on Sunday in The Mountains vs The Seas Tournament.
