WARREN, NJ - The Watchung Hills Lady Warriors knocked off Hunterdon Central in Flemington for the first time since 2012, 1-0, and Matt Grunstein allowed only one goal, and saved 11, to lead Watchung Hills Boys Soccer to a 3-1 victory over Hunterdon Central on Saturday.
In a match riddled with yellow cards, Watchung Hills Boys Soccer team took an early 2-0 lead at half. Tyler Pereira and Ryan Santos each added a goal and an assist and Pawel Cudnoch added a goal.
Andrew Pannone scored the lone goal for Hunterdon Central.
In Flemington, the Watchung Hills Lady Warriors' lone and winning goal came from Ally Grunstein. Freshman goalkeeper Kaylee Donnelly turned away all 10 shots, including a thrilling stop during a one-on-one opportunity in the first half to get the win.The victory was viewed as a bit of an upset for the Lady Warriors as Watchung Hills was ranked 20th by NJ.com coming into the game, and Hunterdon Central was ranked 9th.
Bristol Pizzuto had nine saves for Hunterdon Central.
