WARREN, NJ - After a late start, the Watchung Hills varsity softball team defeated Morristown on Friday, 7-1.

The game may have started late but the Warriors were ready. Izzy Definis went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI and caught a key line drive on defense at first. Erin Bean drove in two runs and scored a run, Shelly Zoppi and Tina Zoppi both went 2-for-3, stole bases and scored and Sophia Cicchetti doubled and scored a run for Watchung Hills.

Robin McCabe pitched a three-hitter striking out six and walking two for Watchung Hills.

Molly Murphy took the loss on the mound and went 2-for-3 at the plate for Morristown. Kailli Zacchini was 1-for 2 with an RBI and Ada Patterson was 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Watchung Hills is now 10-4 on the season and next faces Warren Hills Saturday at 11 a.m. at home.
