NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – The Borough of North Plainfield announced that milling of the roadway will begin April 19 with several area streets to be closed while work is being done. Milling will begin Tuesday along Greenbrook Road with other area roads scheduled throughout the week.
From 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 19, crews will work on Greenbrook Road from West End Avenue to Duer Street as well as the side streets of Jefferson Avenue, Harrison Avenue and Cedar Street. Time permitting, Grove Street from Rockview Avenue to Walnut Street, Washington Avenue from Rockview Avenue to the Plainfield line, and Warfield Road on the Rock Avenue will also be milled. Milling should take two to three days and then paving will commence.
From Wednesday, April 20 through Friday, April 22, milling operations will move to Watching Avenue from Route 22 to Summit Avenue followed by Somerset Street from Route 22 to Summit Avenue and then Mountain Avenue from Somerset Street to Westervelt Avenue. The side streets of Coddington Avenue, Regent Street and Whitewood Avenue are included in this area. Scheduled milling hours are 8:30 a.m. to approximately 5 p.m.
