Beth's Book Review

Without Mercy: A Body Farm Novel by Jefferson Bass (Harper Collins, 2016) In James Patterson's Master Class, an online course which I recommend highly to aspiring authors, Patterson talks about the validity of writing with a partner. Patterson notes several well respected creative teams like Lennon and McCartney, Simon and Garfunkle, and explains that combining the creative juices of two people is a great and productive idea. No where in the writing of crime fiction is that more true than in the case of Jon Jefferson and Dr. Bill Bass, ...

New Jersey's U.S. senators, Robert Menendez and Cory Booker, must put partisanship aside and support the nomination of Betsy DeVos for secretary of education. She's earned their support with her advocacy for public education reform and better educational opportunities for children. It also would be in their best political interests. In the early 1990s, I was elected Jersey City's first Republican mayor in almost a century by a narrow margin. But when I ran for re-election, in this city of only 6 percent Republicans, I won with ...

The practice of medicine requires great skill and training as it has a direct and sometimes profound effect on the lives of patients.  When that effect is a positive one, everyone is happy.  However, the negative effects of poor or careless medicine has profound consequences yet it often goes unreported or uncompensated. The cases are serious and require specialists with experience in the many nuances, traps and pitfalls of bringing these highly specialized types of cases. However, while studies report that the number of ...

Johnny Four Fingers Weekly NFL Picks

Johnny Four Fingers went 3-2 again last week, and I picked Atlanta to knock-off Carolina. Even my average weeks are better than that Tuna guy. He was 1-4. I hear Parcell’a want’s TAP to change that guy’s name to Catfish. Maybe we can call it “Catfish Bites” since he is not worthy of the Tuna name. Anyway, we are closing out my first regular season making picks, and it has been a lot of fun. The drawing is coming up soon. Who will win the $100.00 KC’s Korner gift certificate? Happy New Year to all my friends ...

In doing so, the students gained a deeper understanding of these people and the important contributions that they have made in our country.   The students reflected on how certain African-American leaders influenced them and the impression that these leaders made on them as high school students. A display board of information was created by the club for the entire school community to enhance their ...

The Mommy's Review

The new movie Hidden Figures is now open in theaters nationwide, and I urge all parents out there to take your children to see it. It is a wonderful film with a wonderful message, not to mention a great endorsement of all things related to STEM. Hidden Figures brings us to Langley, VA in the 1960s, just as NASA is preparing to launch its first Americans off of the planet and into the unknown. Under much pressure from the space race with the Soviet Union, NASA’s teams of engineers and scientists are working with intense fervor to not ...

The Moretti Team Welcome the opportunity to answer any questions regarding real estate and market trends. Here is a Market Update in South Plainfield by Guy Moretti

The World According to Greg...................

Whether it is flag football or the NFL, people whose mathematical specialties reside in the areas of risk/reward analyses, game theory, and other related disciplines continue to be aghast that American football has implemented a paucity of irrefutable analyses into their decision-making processes. Instead, many coaches tend to pass on an archaic approach with very little variation down the line, either through time or various levels of play.  A dramatic exception to this is Coach Kevin Kelley’s highly-successful Pulaski Academy ...
