Literacy Volunteers Training

Literacy Volunteers of Somerset County is recruiting volunteer tutors to teach literacy skills to adult learners. Tutors receive 15 hours of training in Basic Literacy and English for Speakers of Other Languages during five weekly sessions. 

Upon completion of the training, tutors are matched with an adult learner. They generally meet once a week for tutoring sessions, typically at a local library. LVSC will offer its spring tutor class on the following consecutive Mondays, April 24, May 1, May 8, May 15, May 22, from 6 to 9 p.m. at The PeopleCare Center in Bridgewater.
