North Plainfield – Gail A. Kaufman – Cain, 62, passed away peacefully on Saturday December 16, 2017 at home surrounded by her devoted family.
Born in Plainfield, Gail grew up in Plainfield and North Plainfield graduating from North Plainfield High School in 1973.
Active in North Plainfield, she worked as the administrative assistant to the Mayor. Gail served as secretary of the Economy Division Committee, mayor liaison to special events and co-chair of the North Plainfield Forum; in turn, became a pillar of the community.
Gail had strong ties to South Plainfield. She was very active with the Sacred Heart HSA and within the community. Gail was the Vice President of the South Plainfield Polish National Home and assisted in coordinating Polish Home Events.
Predeceased by her beloved daughter who died in 2014, Lisa N. Del Negro; father, Stanley Kaufman; sister in law, Colleen Kaufman and brother in law, David Campell; surviving are her husband, Gordon Cain of North Plainfield; mother, Eleanor (Batog) of North Plainfield; brother, Tom Kaufman of South Plainfield and sister, Nancy Campbell of North Brunswick.
She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews, Jackie, Heather, Stephen and his wife Erica and Scott, as well as great nieces, Camila and Hailey Lisa and many beloved extended family and friends.
Funeral services will begin on, Thursday December 21, 2017 at 10AM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by burial in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
Family and friends may attend visitation Wednesday from 3-8PM in the funeral home.
