PLAINFIELD, NJ - Jessica's Cafe & Wood Fired Pizza, a new restaurant in Plainfield, is open just a month but it is already receiving rave reviews.  During its soft opening period, owner and chef Ermelin Saqe has had a chance to meet with local residents who are becoming repeat customers.

Since its June 11 soft opening, reviews have consistently been positive.  Elizabeth P. wrote, "Our first visit on Saturday was amazing. Stuffed Rice Balls, Burrata, proscuitto, arugula Salad for starters. Short Ribs Panini and Almond crusted Lamb Chops for entrees. so Delicious. Great service. Friendly atmosphere. Well done! Planning our return"

Emilia R. said, "Pizza is amazing, perfect crust; you can either pick from the menu or create your own. Owner was very friendly & appears to take great pride in his restaurant. Looking forward to try other dishes. Definitely recommending this place to my family & friends."

Now, Saqe and his team are ready for a grand opening celebration, happening this weekend, July 12-14. A dine-in grand opening prix fixe menu is available, and there will be live music on Saturday starting at 5:30 p.m.

Saqe said the lunch menu will feature smaller options that include a cup of soup.  Additonal features will include discount promotions for emergency responders and members of the military.

Saqe said he chose the intimate Plainfield location, named after his wife, because it is also conveniently located near Watchung, Scotch Plains, and Fanwood.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held with Mayor Adrian O. Mapp and city officials at noon on Sunday, July 14.  Come for the festivities, stay for lunch!
