WATCHUNG, NJ - Watchung Mayor Keith Balla and the Borough Council will discuss formulating a
plan to address diversity, equality, inclusion, and justice at the next meeting of the Borough Council.
“I’ve given a great deal of thought to measures we can take in our borough that could make a real difference in how our residents view Watchung’s efforts to tackle tough issues such as racism, sexism, and discrimination. I will outline those measures at Thursday’s council meeting and look forward to beginning the conversation to bring people from all walks of life together to work toward a more just environment,” the Mayor said.
He added, “We see the pain and suffering that has shuttered many communities across the country. We must come together as a community to listen and commit to work together to implement reforms that will ensure equality, justice, and education through our constructive dialogue. Our Watchung family working hand-in-hand to craft a comprehensive plan to address diversity, equality, inclusion, and justice will certainly create a unique bond among our citizens working or the betterment of all residents.”
Watchung’s regular council meeting will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 7:30 pm.
