NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - Michelle Aquino, Ed.D. North Plainfield Superintendent of Schools provided the following update after New Jersey Governor Murphy announced that New Jersey schools will continue remote learning and physical schools will remain closed to students for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year.
We are disappointed to not return to face-to-face learning in our schools, but understand that safety is paramount. As we are navigating these unchartered waters together, I have appreciated the support and patience our students, staff and families have demonstrated. I am thankful North Plainfield has plans to guide us through the end of the year for remote learning and meal distribution. Our leadership team will convene and continue to strategically plan in the best interest of our students. More details will be forthcoming about the end of the school year, including plans for graduation and key dates.
We will be updating our community on the school closures, as well as the advertised budget this Wednesday during the Board of Education meeting. The Zoom meeting link can be found at the top of the board agenda on our website.
