A candidate must have filed a nominating petition with the county clerk for his or her name to appear on the ballot, and the deadline to submit the nominating petition was 4 p.m. Monday, July 29. The election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 5.
Current Board of Education member Joseph Barbella has filed for re-election as well as Adam Kraft, Jennifer Scharf, Nawaz Sheikh, and Gail Tafaro.
Barbella was appointed in May to fill the seat vacated by former board member Thomas Sicola.
Board member Dennis Bakos is not seeking re-election.
