SOMERSET, NJ – Assemblyman Joe Danielsen hosted his 4th annual Veterans Day Breakfast Friday at the Stage House Tavern, with more than 100 veterans of WWII, the Korean conflict, the Vietnam era, Desert Storm and more recent overseas deployments Friday morning.

Also in attendance was Somerset County Freeholder Shanel Robinson, an Air Force veteran, who spoke of her family's military service while thanking the veterans for their service to the country.

Volunteers from Operation Shoebox New Jersey hosted a display and distributed information about the non-profit organization which ships personal care packages to US troops deployed around the world.

“It is an honor being able to do this breakfast every year as a small way to say thank you to those who served our nation,” said Danielsen (D-Middlesex, Somerset), who served in the Army Reserves 78th Division. “We must always remember to give veterans our thanks for their service to our country.”

Danielsen also thanked host Junior Erickson, owner of the Stage House.

"Since I began the Veterans Day breakfast, Stage House has gone above and beyond by hosting us and providing all the food free of charge,” he said.

Danielsen presented Erickson with an Assembly proclamation recognizing his contributions to the community at the Stage House Tavern.
