BOUND BROOK, NJ – A mother, father and their son, all borough residents, have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of an Old Bridge man Jan. 9 at their home on Farm Lane.
Ryan D. Keogh, 28, was arrested by investigators without incident Thursday morning at a residence on Madison Avenue in Manchester in Ocean County and has been charged with 1st degree Murder, 2nd degree Possession of a Firearm for an Unlawful Purpose, 3rd degree Hindering Investigation, 3rd degree Endangering an Injured Victim, and 4th degree False Swearing, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.
His mother, Cindy Keogh, 61, and father, David Keogh, 58, surrendered to investigators at the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office in Somerville Thuursday, where each was arrested and charged with 3rd degree Hindering Investigation, 3rd degree Endangering an Injured Victim, and 4th degree False Swearing, according to Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor, and Bound Brook Chief of Police Vito Bet
Their son is lodged at the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing. The parents were each released on their own recognizance pending a future court date, according to Fodor.
Robertson provided the following account:
Middlesex Borough police received a 911 at 7:36 p.m., Jan. 9, reporting shots fired and a gunshot wound victim at a residence on Farm Lane in Bound Brook; Middlesex police relayed the call to Bound Brook police who responded to the residence.
They found Terrence C. Coulanges of Old Bridge suffering from gunshot wounds. Lifesaving measures were initiated and the victim was transported to an area trauma center where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Crimes Scene Investigations Unit responded with Bound Brook detectives to conduct the investigation. Investigators interviewed numerous neighbors who reported hearing what they believed to be gunshots between 5:30 6 p.m., more than 90 minutes before the 911 call was received.
A preliminary finding by the Medical Examiner’s Office listed Coulanges’ cause of death as gunshot wounds and the manner of death as homicide.
Initial statements made to investigators by the three suspects were inconsistent with the preliminary findings of the investigation.
Detectives determined that the three suspects left the residence on Farm Lane for a period of time after Coulanges was shot and before Cindy Keogh placed the 911 call at 7:36 p.m.
The motive for the homicide has not been confirmed and the investigation remains on-going.
The arrest of Ryan Keogh was made with the assistance of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Franklin Resident Agency and the Manchester Township Police Department.
