NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - North Plainfield School District Superintendent Michelle Vella provided the following update on Thursday: .
● In an effort to prevent the further spread of Covid-19 in the State, Governor Murphy has announced that all public and private schools must remain closed through at least May 15, 2020. The Governor will reevaluate the public health situation as it relates to schools at that time.
● In partnership with Maschio’s, we have expanded feeding opportunities by opening two additional locations at East End School and West End School. Effective Tuesday, April 21, 2020, Maschio’s will distribute lunch and the next day’s breakfast between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm at the Middle School (gym foyer), East End School (side driveway cafeteria door) and West End School (rear cafeteria door). Social distancing guidelines must be followed for any lines, and we will mark the grounds to indicate safe distancing.
● A Parent Survey will be forthcoming. Please note that due to the extension, we are organizing a committee to explore live instruction during this remote learning experience. As more details unfold, we will share with you.

Please continue to follow the recommendations and practices outlined in social distancing and practice good hygiene. Let us continue to take care of ourselves and each other and remember all those that we have lost during this difficult time. I know it is hard, but I believe we will come out of this together.
