PARKLAND, FL - Parkland Cares will hold a Charity Golf Tournament on Thursday, May 17 at Parkland Golf & Country Club, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Jason Taylor Reading Room and Parkland Cares. The event is presented by Steven Douglas and former NFL player and Hall of Famer Jason Taylor will be in attendance.
Howard Dvorkin, CPA, is chairman of Debt.com and a 30-year resident of Parkland. He created Parkland Cares and developed the idea for the charity golf tournament. He then approached Steve Sadaka, CEO of StevenDouglas, one of the nation's leading boutique search and project-based professional services firms, about StevenDouglas being the presenter of the event. Sadaka also sits on the board of the Jason Taylor Foundation.
Sadaka said, "Pro Football Hall of Famer Jason Taylor told me recently that he wanted to do something to support the kids of Marjory Stoneman Douglas, but we didn't know what exactly to do. Then a few days later, I get a call from Howard Dvorkin about Parkland Cares." "I said, 'Whoa, this is perfect.' It's inspiring," Sadaka said.
The Tournament includes breakfast, lunch, and cocktail hour. Shotgun starts at 9 a.m. and there is a limit of 18 foursomes. There will also be a raffle and silent auction.
Foursomes are $1250. Individual golfers are $350 per person.
