WARREN, NJ - Three Watchung Hills Regional High School athletes upgraded their status from recruit to official signees to the college/university of their choice on Wednesday.
Surrounded by their family, coaches, and friends on Feb. 5, the three students put pen to paper and signed their official NLI commitment letters.

Guidelines for NCAA Signing Days at Watchung Hills:
To celebrate our student-athletes who will be continuing their athletic careers in college, Watchung Hills has established guidelines for signing days. We have aligned our dates with the official NCAA signing periods, which are coordinated with the National Letter of Intent (NLI) program. The NLI is a binding agreement between the student-athlete and a Division I or Division II academic institution, which has offered the student-athlete financial aid. We also have a spring signing day for Division III student-athletes.
The athletics office will share signing day photographs and information with the local media. Student-athletes planning to continue their athletic careers in college should let the athletics office know as soon as the NLI has been made available or the student has been admitted to the academic institution.
For 2019-20, the following dates are in effect:
Fall Signing Day: November 13, 2019
All student-athletes who have an NLI will be recognized during this signing session. Based on the NCAA’s recommendation, student-athletes with a commitment to a Division I or Division II institution that does not offer NLIs (Ivy League Schools and Service Academies, for example) will be invited to participate. This signing day will be for all sports except football and soccer.
Winter Signing Day: February 5, 2020
All football and soccer student-athletes who have an NLI will be recognized during this signing session. Based on the NCAA’s recommendation, student-athletes with a commitment to a Division I or Division II institution that does not offer NLIs (Ivy League Schools and Service Academies, for example) will be invited to participate.
Spring Signing Day: May 1, 2020
All student-athletes who will be continuing their athletic careers at a Division III school will be recognized during this session. Student-athletes may bring the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Celebratory Signing Form. Division I or Division II student-athletes who committed after the fall and winter signing dates also will be invited to participate.
Future College Athletes Day: June 3, 2020
In early June, a photograph of all future college student-athletes will be taken. This is a final celebration for all of our student-athletes who will be competing in an NCAA sport at the Division I, II, or III level.
