WARREN, NJ - Watchung Hills Regional High School will be looking for a new Principal after George Alexis was approved Monday night as the new superintendent of Watchung Borough Schools. He is set to start in Watchung on Oct. 1. Superintendent Elizabeth Jewett addressed the Watchung Hills community:

Dear WHRHS Learning Community,

At last night's Board meeting, the Watchung K-8 Board of Education approved our current high school principal, George Alexis, as their next Superintendent. While we are losing a tremendous educator within our high school, we are gaining an outstanding instructional leader at the helm of one of our constituent districts.

More details will be forthcoming regarding our transition to a new principal. We will conduct a thorough and comprehensive search for an educational leader who will be able to continue to help us actualize our district vision and goals, helping our students find their passion and preparing them to avail themselves of the abundant opportunities presented to them beyond the walls of Watchung Hills.

I want to thank Mr. Alexis for his more than seven years of dedicated service and his strong leadership of our district. I look forward to ongoing collaboration with Mr. Alexis in his new role, and with the educational leaders of Green Brook, Long Hill, and Warren, as we work toward continuing to make the Watchung Hills Regional school community even better tomorrow than we are today. Warm Regards,

Elizabeth C. Jewett, Ph.D. Superintendent
