WARREN, NJ - The Watchung Hills boys soccer team defeated Montgomery on Wednesday for the first win of the year, 3-2.
Senior Apostoli Malouhous scored an unassisted goal with 9 minutes to go to give the Warriors the go ahead 3-2 lead. Sophomore Anthony Ferreira scored first for Watchung Hills off a corner kick from Brian Velez with 20 minutes left in the first half. Nick Agugliaro scored off a direct kick giving the Warriors the 2-1 lead with 30 minutes left in the game and Montgomery tied it up with 10 minutes left.
“It was great to get our first win of the season and to have everyone get into the game and contribute made it even more special,” said WHRHS head coach Greg Leonow. “ I believe we have been getting better each game and looking forward to build off this win. “
Jake Seyda and Cole Kebea each played a half in goal for the Warriors.
