WARREN, NJ - Senior Mahogany Jenkins double-doubled with 19 points and 11 rebounds while adding 3 assists and 3 steals to lead the Watchung Hills Lady Warriors over North Hunterdon in the NJSIAA North Jersey, Group 4, Section 2 Quarterfinal Round, 58-36.

Sophomore Bella Murray poured in 15 points and racked up 10 assists for a double-double of her own. Seniors Scarlett Glasser-Nehls and Jayden Baltuch pitched in 9 and 8 points, respectively for Watchung Hills. Jess McLaughlin paced the Lions with 15 points.

“Very proud of the girls’ effort tonight,” said WHRHS assistant coach Jeff Dealaman. “We had a game plan coming in that we needed to set the tone early with our brand of basketball: playing lock-down defense, running in transition, attacking the basket and kicking the ball out to our teammates to knock down open looks. And that’s exactly what we did. It was nearly a perfect first half. I didn’t like that we took the foot off of the gas a bit in the second half but the game was never in question and we did what we had to do to finish out a comfortable win, which is never easy to do in the state playoffs. We now look forward to hosting a very tough Ridge team in the semifinals on Saturday night.”

Watchung Hills will host Ridge at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
