Balanced Scoring Leads North Salem Girls to Win

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. — Behind a balanced scoring effort, North Salem’s varsity girls basketball team cruised to a 45-24 victory over visiting Croton-Harmon on Dec. 22.

Grace Curran, Livia Dworaczyk and Katie McCormack each notched 10 points in the win.

North Salem (3-4) lost to visiting Edgemont 68-44 a day earlier. Curran sparked the Tiger attack with 12 points.

Tigers crushed by Carmel on road in boys hoops

North Salem’s varsity boys basketball team fell to host Carmel 68-36 on Dec. 22 to drop to 1-4 on the season.

The Tigers will look to bounce back when they take on Haldane at Carmel High School at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2.

Sabers shut down by RT/H

Somers/North Salem’s ice hockey squad fell to Rye Town/Harrison 8-2 on Dec. 28 at Playland.

Rye Town/Harrison jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second period before R.J. LaSpina got the Sabers on the board. Michael Garrity also added a late goal.

Ben Winter made 17 saves for the Sabers, which dropped to 5-3-1.

I am responding to guest columnist Sy Globerman’s article, “Trump is revivifying America” in the Thursday, Feb. 8 edition of your newspaper.
