NORTH SALEM, N.Y.— Croton Falls firefighters had their hands full with a number of rollovers after a snowstorm hit the region leaving a few inches of snowfall with slippery road conditions on Jan. 31.

At 12:52 p.m., The Croton Falls Fire Department was sent to northbound I-684 near exit 8 for a reported rollover accident, which involved one person trapped with injuries. Firefighters had to remove the windshield to free the driver. The driver was taken to Danbury Hospital with serious injuries by the North Salem Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Westchester EMS Paramedic.

The northbound Exit 8 ramp to I-684 was closed for an hour while the crash was cleared.

CFFD also responded to two other roll over accidents on I-684, south of Exit 8. Officials say all of them involved minor injuries. Those hurt were taken by Westchester EMS to Putnam Hospital Center.
