North Salem Baseball Wins Second Straight State Title

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - North Salem defeated Potsdam 7-3 to win its second consecutive New York State Class C title on Saturday at Binghamton University.

The Tigers jumped out to a 5-0 first-inning lead. Nate Carminucci's two-run single drove in Connor Mahoney and Phil Foglia to get things started. Jesse Fleming added an RBI single and Michael Puletz's two RBI single made it 5-0.

Mahoney, who went 3 for 4, laced a two-run double in the fourth inning to stretch the lead to 7-2.

J.B. Healy went the distance for the win and struck out eight batters.
