North Salem Defeats Valhalla in Summer League

CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. — North Salem defeated Valhalla 4-2 in the Hudson Valley Summer Field Hockey League on Thursday, July 20, at Walter Panas High School.

The game was tied 1-1 at halftime but the Tigers were able to pull away with three goals in the second half.

Hailey Starace tallied two goals for North Salem, which improved its summer league record to 3-2. Analisa Posa and Megan Marano added a goal apiece, while Molly McGuinness made seven saves in the cage.

A night earlier, North Salem lost to John Jay-East Fishkill 3-0. The Tigers fell behind 2-0 at halftime. McGuinness kept them in the game by making nine saves.

North Salem was scheduled to face Somers on July 25 and takes on  Lakeland Green today at 7 p.m. with both games being played at Walter Panas High School.
