NORTH SALEM, N.Y.-North Salem’s girls basketball team has only two seniors, but you wouldn’t know it from the pumped up crowd that attended Friday’s senior night victory over league rival Pawling, 47-25.

“It was our ball movement in the first half that put us over the top,” North Salem coach Eric Buzzetto said. “We were getting a lot of easy buckets off offensive rebounds and my goal was to play the seniors as much as they wanted to. They did a great job and Alina (DiMella) showed why she is the captain of this team.”

On fire out of the gate, the home Tigers watched their senior captain Alina DiMella swing a pass to sophomore Julia DeSanto for a three-ball from the top of the key late in the first.

What consistently rates 4.9 to 5.0 on the major customer review sites? What business is both destination and resource, a tradition, a haven, valued, endangered and has something for everyone, at every age?
Hands down, it is your local independent bookstore. They have faced challenges (think “When Harry Met Sally”) and still do (um, Amazon), but those that remain have carved out ...
