The North Salem cross country team enjoyed ideal running conditions (cool, low humidity) by registering personal best 5K times on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Brewster Bears Classic, which brought out 45 teams.

Coach Chris Gould said it was a “wonderful opportunity to chase a low number, and everyone finished with their best times of the season. The team is truly getting the most out of their training efforts. This should bode well as we head into championship season.”

North Salem boys soccer evened their record at 6-6 behind first-half goals from Michael Lulaj (5 minutes) and Matt Cole (18 minutes). Jonah DaSilva and Paul Lulaj registered assists.

Keeper Mark Mackenzie made 7 saves in the shutout win.

Behind strong play from both goalkeepers (11 saves by Mackenzie), Saturday’s match between North Salem and Albertus Magnus went into overtime scoreless. Magnus’ Sean Quin scored the game-winner 4 minutes into overtime.
