SOMERS, N.Y.— It was a perfect day to kick off the cross-country season at Somers’ Big Red Invitational and North Salem enjoyed some commendable results.

Ben Leicht paced the boys team with a ninth-place finish in a clocking of 17:35.73 in Division 3.

Shane Cotter was 28th in 18:51.59 while Sean Vincent took 30th in 18:59.38. Eric Lange (59th), Lucas Colletes (63rd) and Ryan Renda (67th) also ran well on Saturday, Sept. 9.

Stella Ard sparked the girls by placing 12th in Division 3 in a time of 22:36.36. Juliette Intrieri was 14th (23:29.86) with Emma Litchfield finishing 26th (25:47.05) and Daniella Jacobsen taking 39th.
