The “Movies That Matter” series continues at Katonah SPACE (Spirituality, Arts & Community for Everyone). There will be a free screening of “The Doctrine of Discovery,” followed by conversation, on Saturday, February 2, at 7:00 pm in the SPACE at 44 Edgemont Road, Katonah, NY. The Doctrine of Discovery declared in 1493 that European colonizers had the right to seize any lands not inhabited by Christians. The ramifications of this doctrine on indigenous peoples continue to the current day on a global scale. Dr. Janice Turner, Lenape Indian Tribe of Delaware, will facilitate a discussion following the film.
