I must defend myself against this attack against me for my many criticisms of President Donald Trump.

As President Harry Truman once said, “I don’t hate anybody. I just tell the truth.”

The truth is that Trump delayed America’s response to the tremendous hurricane for four days due to his visit to his golf club in Bedminster, N.J. Our president spent ...

Two-Tiered Public Justice: Bad for American Democracy

The Harvey Weinstein scandal broke only seven weeks ago. It’s been a great public leveler, but still an incomplete one.

For decades before that, a two-tier system existed to punish sexual impropriety among politicians. Time and again, we saw that liberals wanted harsher rules to apply to conservatives than to themselves for sexual offenses. Politicians on their own side were consistently ...

Are Your Parents Vulnerable to Fraud?

A couple of years ago, Margaret, a 75-year-old retiree, was victim to a series of thefts and she didn’t even know it.

The thief, a trusted aide, helped herself to Margaret’s ATM card and withdrew $400 from Margaret’s bank account—every two weeks.

Thousands of dollars, plus precious heirloom jewelry, was taken over the course of three years while Margaret was ...

Get Your Gig On

It’s understandable that when people see empty storefronts, they infer it’s the mark of economic malaise. It is not. What’s not taken into account by jumping to that conclusion is that times change, marketplace dynamics change, shopping habits change.

Consumers are spending money, all right, just in different places and in different ways. A storefront that made sense in past ...

One More Doggone Diet

“I caught the dog looking at himself in the full-length mirror today,” I said to my husband. “I think he’s feeling a little self-conscious about his thighs. And he’s worried about putting on weight over the holidays.”

“The dog is worried?” my husband asked.

“Yes, he's noticed that he’s put on a few pounds since Halloween and he ...
