NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – After losing two games to start the week, North Salem girls basketball rallied on Saturday (Feb. 1), with a 46-24 home win over Rye Neck.

The Tigers were led by Liz Squire (10 points, 8 rebounds, 4 blocks). Five players scored 6 points each (Julia DeSanto, Amanda Marano, Leah Wright, Megan Wright, Joan Herlihy), Emma Zoubok had 5, and Hannah Carminucci added 1. Ellen Herlihy also contributed to the win, recording 2 rebounds and a blocked shot.

North Salem improved to 9-8 with the win.

Dobbs Ferry 68, North Salem 34
Wednesday, Jan. 28 (Dobbs Ferry High School)

North Salem opened the week with a big road loss to Dobbs Ferry.

Liz Squire had 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks; Julia DeSanto had 8 points.

Briarcliff 45, North Salem 36
Friday, Jan. 31 (Briarcliff High School)

North Salem lost their second straight game, a nine-point road defeat to Briarcliff.

Liz Squire had 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 blocks; Julia DeSanto had 11 points and 7 rebounds.

Upcoming Schedule

The girls team was scheduled to travel to Haldane on Wednesday (Feb. 5) and host Putnam Valley on Friday (Feb. 7).
